Purpose of Project

Build a hexahedral mesh representing a tunnel. Lower Left corner is a 8x80 foot tunnel, mesh expands out to 200 ft in xz, and 80 ft in y. Target resolution along tunnel walls near .1 then .5 at 40, ratio as needed to outside of mesh. Tunnel is empty of elements.
The goal is 100,000 nodes but is not possible with .1 for 8 feet resolution. This version mesh has .2 feet spacing at tunnel then expands in size space quickly toward Y axis and in XZ

This is a 8x80 foot tunnel with mesh out to 200 ft in xz, and 80 ft in y. Target resolution along tunnel walls near .1 then .5 at 40, ratio to big to outside. Tunnel is empty of elements. This version mesh has .2 feet spacing at tunnel then expands in size space quickly toward Y axis and in XZ.

Meshing Method:


Create the 2D quad surface on XZ plane
  lagrit < surf_quad.lgi

Extrude and stack into hex mesh
  write_hex_lgi.py > hex.lgi
  lagrit < hex.lgi

Check result
grep Dudd outx3dgen

remove zero volumes and write final files
  lagrit < hex_final.lgi

Check result
grep exterior outx3dgen 
should result with:    1  different exterior boundary components
