Prism Mesh V3 (Same as V2 with different DEM) Sep 15 2015 This mesh is translated to zero coordinate: define XTRANS 360600. define YTRANS 3973000. (re-run Sep 17 to remove duplicate nodes) Uses Richard's 2 meter DEM interpolated on to surface for top. The DEM is a very smooth version of the original 1m DEM. Additional layering formed by translating this top surface. The surface triangluation is constrained to a max edge length of 30m. This triangulation is Delaunay and has better element ratios and distribution. Otherwise the 3D mesh is setup the same as V1b. Surface V1 tri count: 2,594,200 Surface V2 and V3 tri count: 1,155,555 Improvements on the triangulation will be based on the model results. Issues to look at: Capturing 1 meter feature for large region was difficult computational for Delaunay Is the 1 meter feature too small for modeling? Are the river faces oriented correctly for flow? Is the river positioned within the topology correctly for flow? What is the effect of river 1 cell wide, impact where there are more? The triangulation for this version was improved by: Use smarter refinement to reduce the total number of elements.
