This documentation is not meant to be complete. It just gives a quick overview
of what has been done. Personal communication would be a suggest first step
for anyone attempting to use these mesh file.
A series of meshes of different resolution have been built to represent
the cbm_subset01 model domain. The grids above are available in AVS and GMV format.
See the image gallery for pictures of the mesh. The goal is to build a prototype
from the CBM which is small enough (number of elements) to allow rapid computation
but still captures the complexity of the CBM.
Four blocks from the CBM (cbmHu, cbmHl, cbmIu, cbmIl) have been embedded inside a
box. The centering of the four blocks could be better but this is just a first cut.
The goal was to keep the element count down, have enough resolution to represent
the blocks and have very coarse resolution in the surrounding block.
Model r2:
Nominal resolution: elements of the four blocks and elements incident upon the
four blocks have edge length less than 7000.0 meters.
noded = 18798 elements = 90291
OUTPUT:
tmp_massage_4blk_r2.[ gmv / inp ]
Model r5:
Nominal resolution: elements of the four blocks have edge length less than 7000.0 meters.
Elements in the surrounding box have resolution greater than 10000. meters.
noded = 11556 elements = 44810
OUTPUT:
tmp_massage_4blk_r5.[ gmv / inp ]
